A Step by Step Guide for GST Enrolment for existing Central Excise / Service Tax Assessees

Well today I am writing here the steps to GST Enrolment for existing Central Excise / Service Tax Assessees. Hope it would be helpful to some one.

All existing Central Excise and Service Tax assessees will be migrated to GST starting 7 th January
2017. To migrate to GST, assessees would be provided a Provisional ID and Password by CBEC.

Provisional IDs would be issued to only those assessees who have a valid PAN associated with their
registration. An assessee may not be provided a Provisional ID in the following cases:

a. The PAN associated with the registration is not valid
b. The PAN is registered with State a Tax authority and Provisional ID has been supplied by the
said State Tax authority.

c.There are multiple CE/ST registrations on the same PAN in a State. In this case only 1
Provisional ID would be issued for the 1 st registration in the alphatebical order provided any of
the above 2 conditions are not met.

The assessees need to use this Provisional ID and Password to logon to the GST Common Portal
(https://www.gst.gov.in) where they would be required to fill and submit the Form 20 along with
necessary supporting documents.

Subsequent pages provide the Steps to be followed by each assessee to migrate to
GST.

Step 1: Logon to ACES portal using the existing ACES User ID and Password.

Step 2: Either follow the link to obtain the Provisional ID and Password OR navigate using the Menu

Step 3: Make a note of the Provisional ID and password that is provided. In case a Provisional ID is not provided, please refer the Next Step section. In case of further doubt please contact the CBEC Helpdesk at either 1800-1200-232 or email at cbecmitra.helpdesk@icegate.gov.in

Once you have obtained the Provisional ID and Password, logon to the GST Common Portal

What is logarithms, what is magic here ?

We encounter daily in our reading, while reading about complexity of any program, that is measured in terms of notations Like BIG OH, BIG OMEGA, and THEETA Notations.

We encounter in many of case that some kind of programs having complexity of some logarithms form.

We would like to explain today, what is logarithms exactly, what they represents, what they actually mean of it.

“A logarithm is the power to which a number must be raised in order to get some other number.”

let’s see it by example.

log 100 = 2  , consider base 10 for log

Type of logarithms —

1- Base ten logarithms

log 1000 = 3

pow(10, 3) = 1000

2- Natural logarithms —

log 1000 = 3

pow(10,3) = 1000

Negative Logarithms
− Negative? But logarithms deal with multiplying.
What is the opposite of multiplying? Dividing!

e.g. log8(0.125) … ?

1 ÷ 8 = 0.125,

log8(0.125) = −1

Adwords Vs Adsense

The difference between Adwords and Adsense is that adwords allows you to advertise on the Google search results pages (and the network of partners) while Adsense provides the platform to use as a publisher to display Google Ads on your website.

Both platforms are developed and owned by Google and they have positively contributed to Google’s success. As a blogger or website owner there are many reasons why you should understand the difference between the two. For starters you should know what each platform is and under what circumstances you can use both Adwords and Adsense on the same website.

Google AdWords

People who want to advertise their company/product online through Google, can go to Google AdWords and buy Ad spaces. These spaces can be from Google owned sites like Search, YouTube etc or from third party websites (more on this later). Google AdWords has amazing set of targeting options and one can target visitors by keywords, placements (websites or webpages), interests etc.

Google AdWords works on a CPC model and the advertiser needs to pay only when users click on an ad. This advertising model is so successful for Google that they generate most of their income from Google AdWords.

When you register with Adwords you can create several campaigns and ads (grouped into ad groups) and each adgroup can be targeted to a specific group of people. The system allows you to select for which keywords you want your ads to appear and also for which areas, times, days etc.

AdSense

Suppose you have a very popular blog which is read by thousands every day but you do not earn revenue from them. The most obvious way of earning revenue would be to place ads on your website. But how do you convince advertisers to place their ads on your website? How would you deliver exact data which advertisers are so particular about?

Google AdSense comes to rescue in this case. AdSense allows small as well as big website owners to monetize their content or ad spaces by placing ads. Once you sign up for AdSense, any advertiser in Google AdWords can start placing their ad on your website (third party websites in AdWords are those websites which have opted in to AdSense). You need not worry about reporting, spam fighting etc as Google takes care of all this.

Google takes a commission from your earnings for providing this service though. But the amount they charge is well worth the impact it has. Millions of website owners make a living from ads today thanks to Google AdWords.
